NEW WAR MACHINES AND OLD NUCLEAR WEAPONS

Yale SOM Professor Paul Bracken is leading an alumni tour through Berlin in October where he will focus on business, economics, Russia, and military issues. 

A dangerous strategic competition is underway based on AI, cyber, hypersonic missiles, killer drones, laser death rays, logic bombs, satellite killers, and robot weapons. Professor Paul Bracken will describe how these “new war machines” promise to change the international order. At the same time “old nuclear weapons,” a 1945 technology, have spread to nine countries and counting. China’s current “nuclear breakout,” North Korea, and Iran’s effort to get the bomb point to a second nuclear age.

The YAA has offered to open the evening program (lecture and cocktail reception) on October 18th at the Westin Grand in Berlin to members of the Yale Club of Germany.

The Yale Club is always looking for alumni to interview local high-school students who are applying to Yale College. If you would like to help out or learn more, please contact our ASC director, Rebecca Haltzel-Haas.

If you interested in presenting the Yale Book Award at a high school in your area, please contact the club board.

The Club does not assess dues, but asks its members to make an modest annual contribution (€20 suggested, but any amount is welcome) to help fund Club activities.
