DESCRIPTION:Did you know that when you flush your toilet in Berlin\, the wa
 ste flows untreated into the Spree or another waterway on average one day 
 per week\, if you live in the S-Bahn ring? The Landwehrkanal alone receive
 s enough raw sewage annually to fill its entire length twice over.\n\nPlea
 se join Yale Club Germany on June 7\, 6:30 for a brief tour led by Richard
  Karty (YSE\, the school formerly known as FES\, PhD 06) of a new kind of 
 facility that could reduce the sewage overflows - with a side benefit of r
 esponding to the city's insatiable demand for space for recreation and caf
 es - and for an overview of Berlin's truly one-of-a-kind (and not in a goo
 d way) water system. The engineer who designed the structure will be prese
 nt.\n\nWe'll meet at the installation which is on the Spree waterfront (ne
 arest U-Bahn Warschauer Strasse) and after the talk/discussion move to a n
 earby cafe.\n\nWe need an accurate head count for the cafe reservation so
