Dear members of the Yale family in Germany,
Our Annual General Meeting will be held via Zoom on April 21st. If you are interested meeting the board members, hearing about our activities, or getting more involved yourself, we'd love to have you join us!
New to the calendar is a Stammtisch in Frankfurt on April 12th at 6pm at Westbar. Let's welcome an SOM '22 alumna who has recently moved to the Frankfurt area! Come by for a drink or bite to eat, and if you have any ideas for 2024 activities, bring them with you. Guests are also always welcome.
Also new is an invitation to the Biennale in Venice - see more info below.
We have two more Munich Dialogues on Democracy events before the summer break. Join us in person or online for an evening with Tech and Democracy Activist Yael Eistenstat on April 25th and with Harvard professor and best-selling author Daniel Ziblatt on May 16th. Registration for in-person tickets is free and open now. Don't miss the Yale Club / Harvard Club / Munich Dialogues dinner buffet/bar after the event with Prof. Ziblatt. Mark your calendars now! Information coming.
We are also starting a Munich Dialogues book group. Ahead of our evening with Prof. Ziblatt, those who would like to read with a group can join us to discuss Tyranny of the Minority, his latest, co-authored with Steven Levitsky. We will meet on May 14th in Munich - if you would like to come, send an email to info@dialoguesondemocracy.com with BOOK GROUP in the subject, and we'll send you further information. (If you would like to organize a book group in your town, do reach out!).
A reminder that the Yale Club of Germany does not assess dues, but we do have costs. We suggest a minimum contribution of €20/year to cover our web hosting and organisational expenses. If we have more, we can sponsor scholarships for graduate students from German universities to spend a few months researching at Yale. Thank you for whatever you can donate!
For the latest information and events you can follow our website or join our Facebook group. We hope to see you at our AGM, in Frankfurt for the Stammtisch, or in Munich at our Yale/Harvard get-together with Munich Dialogues on Democracy.
Boola Boola,
Bartley
