Dear Members of the Yale family in Germany,
It was lovely to see alumni from all over Germany at our Annual General Meeting online last month. Thanks to those who joined!
I’d like to emphasize two things from the meeting: first, welcome and many thanks to Christian Masuch (MA '02), who will be taking over as Alumni Schools Director from Rebecca Haltzel-Haas, who has been a fantastic Director for many, many years now. Rebecca will complete this year's cycle and is stepping down this summer as her son is entering the admissions process. A huge thank you to both Rebecca and Christian.
Second, Hans-Christian Siller has been our club Treasurer for many, many years as well, and he would like to step down. He has streamlined our finances, cleaned up the bank accounts and files, and will finish the taxes for a three-year period this summer. If anyone feels the call (and is an EU citizen) we’d love to have you take over from Chris and join the board. Please contact president@yaleclub.de or treasurer@yaleclub.de for more information.
By popular demand the meeting will be hybrid next year, with an in-person gathering as well as the option for others to join online.
I'm happy to pass on several options for in-person cocktails, conversations and camaraderie in the upcoming months around Germany:
HAMBURG
The Insead Alumni Association invites us to join their evening on April 29th at 18:30
COPING WITH DISRUPTION
Economic and political outlook for the advanced world
Dr. Holger Schmieding
Chief Economist, Berenberg, London/Hamburg

Many thanks to Hamburg-based Manou Shamsrizi for forwarding this!
BERLIN
Meet up with alumni and friends from various Ivy League schools – usually every 1st Tuesday of the month (except over Christmas and in summer).
Venues rotate about every two months so we cover different Berlin neighborhoods. We usually pick locations that offer drinks and some bites for those who come hungry after work.
Join our Berlin mailing list to get notified about the venue of the upcoming Stammtisch meetings (as well as occasional invites to other events from fellow Ivy Circle alumni groups). We will post on our website as well.
FRANKFURT
Frankfurt based Billy Kolber (BA '86 and Whiffenpoof!) has graciously invited us to a Wine Stammtisch/open house at his home in Frankfurt on Saturday, June 21st, 3-6pm. RSVP to Billy directly for address and details. Email: billykolber@aya.yale.edu.
COLOGNE
Olivia Ciacci (BA '05, Morse college) has recently relocated to Cologne and is happy to organize cocktails in town if there is interest. If you're in the Köln/Bonn area and are interested in a meet-up, let Olivia know and she'll plan one! You can email her at olivia.ciacci@gmail.com.
As always, watch our website for upcoming events, and let us know if you'd like to organize anything in your neck of the woods.
Boola Boola from Munich,
Bartley
